Entry #9: lady liberty

“Americans spend about $60 billion a year on diet books, plans, programs, pills and weight-loss surgery, Nestle says. This comic here shows lady liberty. The icon and national treasure of America. But she is shown slightly differently here in this picture than she is actually.  seen here in this comic picture she is seen holding McDonald’s French fries and books other her other hand that are on based on diet. She is also seen larger here. This comic is emphasizing that no matter what you read based on “diet” you must change what you consume. As Ann Telanos says “If people live in a fast-food environment, all the diets in the world won't help. You have to change the environment," Ann Telanos, Cartoonist Group She is completely correct in my opinion, in America everywhere you turn you will see a fast-food restaurant. But when you get on social media or any social platform, they advertise on how a body should be and look like. If people would like a change for a healthier lifestyle we need to begin with our environment. America needs better food options this will help job security, food security and health. With the help of everyone in our country we can improve having heathier food options.
